...is what Duke Eberhard Ludwig always used to say. That's why he founded Ludwigsburg.

The magnificent centre of the city is the Residence Palace with the porcelain factory, which Duke Carl Eugen founded in 1758. Next to it, no less charming, is the hunting and pleasure palace Favorite and the lakeside palace Monrepos. The garden show Blühendes Barock with the fairytale garden can be found on more than 30 hectares around the Residence Palace. In the baroque town centre you will find the homes and birthplaces of Ludwigsburg's famous poets' sons and many opportunities for shopping and feasting.

The modern face of Ludwigsburg is no less attractive. In the middle of one of Germany's strongest economic regions, Ludwigsburg is home to many well-known companies - many of them with a global reputation. As a film and media location, Ludwigsburg has gained international importance, especially through the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy and the Film and Media Center. In addition to numerous renowned media companies, the Film and Media Center also houses a start-up center that is intended to make it easier for young media professionals to start their own business.

And Ludwigsburg is a university city. With a total of five universities of applied sciences and academies as well as the Franco-German Institute, the city offers its approximately 85,600 citizens a comprehensive and highly qualified range of educational opportunities.
